ABOUT THE ARTIST

Hello! My name is Evie, and I’m a 2017 graduate of DePauw University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Although I hope to pursue further education in the field of psychology in the near future, I’ve spent the last five years applying my ever-growing comprehension of the human mind and behavior to my work as a graphic designer. My academic background gives me many advantages in the design industry, including a greater comprehension of my clients’ needs and the ability to address those needs to the fullest extent through clear communication and collaboration. A background in psychology also aids me in the creation of meaningful, influential designs that will resonate with your target audience. Furthermore, I love a challenge—I am primarily self-taught in the realm of graphic design, but I believe that education is exponential and am delighted to approach every project or commission as a learning opportunity. My specialties are logo design, visual identity development, and marketing materials, but I’m happy to take on just about any project.

In addition to my experience as a graphic designer, I am also a dabbling illustrator with an engaging, evolving, contemporary style. I taught myself how to use Adobe Photoshop in middle school and have since significantly improved upon my digital drawing process through the use of multiple Adobe programs. Though I primarily draw for fun—and often create fan art for various forms of fictional media—I have had fantastic opportunities to illustrate professionally and hope for more in the future. My art is primarily representational, and my style often shifts based on my inspirations, but I particularly enjoy portraiture and line drawing.

Design and illustration are my greatest areas of expertise, but I am also an amateur photographer. I’ve always loved the view through a camera lens but never had time to dedicate myself to learning more than the bare bones of photography. The outbreak of SARS-CoV-2 and the subsequent lockdown, however, gave me a little more flexibility to focus on that interest. The ability to work remotely during such a stressful, unprecedented period was an incredible privilege that I will forever be grateful for, and the time I had to enjoy photographing birds and nature was an additional silver lining. Quarantine instilled in me a greater appreciation for my surroundings, and documenting those through photography has brought me joy. In the future, I hope to integrate more photography into my design projects while also exploring opportunities to freelance.
